More than thirty years ago I retrieved this broken clay pot from a dump. The lip was badly damaged and it had a hole in the side. I chipped away the lip to make it slightly more even but left the hole as it was.
We’ve used it over the years to hold various homemade creations of dried flowers/weeds. I keep it as a reminder that even old, broken clay pots have value. I keep it as a reminder that God has a use for me even though I’m far from a perfect vessel for holding His Holy Spirit. By God’s grace even an old, broken clay vessel like me can hold the glorious presence of God, and can pour out His goodness into the lives of others!
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)
