“Work with Me!”

“I can’t work with that person!” You’ve probably said it, and you’ve probably heard other people say it. We certainly don’t want that said about us!
People have to work together all the time, whether on the job, in a marriage or friendship, in a group or club, and in a church, too. Things don’t go well when we can’t work together.
What about working with God? The entire Bible makes it abundantly clear that God wants to work with us and have us work with Him. God has created us to partner with Him. He has plans for each of us to help carry out His purposes through us. I wonder whether He says about us, “I can’t work with that person!” Is He able to carry out His plans and purposes through us?
The Lord has a plan for each of us, a calling for each of us to carry out. Each of us is living and dealing with a specific set of circumstances right now. We may not like some of them, but the good news is that God has a plan for us in the middle of everything! He knew before the foundation of the world that we’d find ourselves exactly where we are now, and He has a plan! He has a calling for us! Are we willing to accept His call upon our lives? Are you willing to say, “Lord, what would you have me do?” He can do with us only what we give Him to work with. In essence, God is saying to us, “Work with Me!”
“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
